Lubbock ISD Launches 2026-2027 Community Leadership Academy

Lubbock Independent School District (Lubbock ISD) is currently accepting applications for its annual Community Leadership Academy. Meetings for the academy begin in October 2026 and conclude in April 2027 for a total of seven meetings over the course of the 2026-2027 school year. The application can be found online and will close at midnight on Friday, Sept. 18, and those accepted will be notified on Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Open to district parents and adult community members, the academy provides opportunities for participants to hear from district students, teachers and administrators and tour district facilities and campuses. Participants will interact with leaders and decision makers in Lubbock ISD, who can answer the why and how behind the decisions that are made to ensure the sustainability, future and functionality of our district. They will also have the chance to provide feedback on how the district can continue to fulfill its mission of nurturing, developing and inspiring every child, every day.

Each meeting will take place from 8-11 a.m. on Wednesdays, with the first meeting taking place on Oct. 7. Participants will check in at the Lubbock ISD Central Office (1628 19th St.) for breakfast and the first hour of each meeting. The last two hours will be dedicated to tours of various district campuses and facilities.
