Road Closure of Portion of MLK Jr. Boulevard to Start Monday
Beginning Monday, August 31, 2026, a contractor working for the City of Lubbock Public Works Department will replace a broken water valve in the intersection of 66th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
All traffic along MLK Jr. Blvd., from the Slaton Highway to 50th Street, will be limited to business access ONLY. Weather permitting, work will be complete Friday September 11, 2026.
The city encourages drivers to use caution while driving in work zones and to seek alternate routes.
