City Offices will be Closed for Labor Day


City of Lubbock offices will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Certain City facilities and operations will also have adjusted hours over the holiday weekend. Normal operations will resume Tuesday, September 8.
Residential Trash Collection
Solid waste collection for Monday and Tuesday, September 7 – September 8, will be shifted to Tuesday and Wednesday, September 8-9.
Recycling/Landfill Operations
- Both landfills will be closed on Monday, September 7, and will resume normal operations on Tuesday, September 8.
- Attended drop-off stations will be closed on Monday, September 7, and will resume normal operations on Tuesday, September 8.
Libraries
All Lubbock Public Library locations will be closed Monday, September 7.
Recreational Facilities & Community Centers
- Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center will be open 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Monday, September 7.
- All community and senior centers as well as Safety City will be closed Monday, September 7, and will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday, September 8.
Cultural Facilities
The Buddy Holly Center will be OPEN on Labor Day from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. to commemorate Buddy’s 90th birthday.
Silent Wings Museum and the Garden & Arts Center will be closed Monday, September 7, and will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday, September 8.
