Meet the Machines at Mahon Library

A hands-on, family-friendly community event where children and adults can safely explore, climb on, and interact with a wide variety of large vehicles, including fire trucks, construction machinery, police cars, and emergency vehicles. It provides a unique, tactile experience while you meet first responders who serve your community! This is an outdoor event. All ages welcome at Mahon Library, 1306 9th Street. We will also work on early literacy (colors, numbers, and letters), foundational (vocabulary), and social-emotional development (problem solving, sharing) skills. Recommended for ages 2-5.

2026 City-Wide Back-2-School Bash at Lubbock Memorial Civic Center

We want to help you get prepared for school! In addition to free backpacks and school supplies for children, this event will also host a community resource fair so families can learn about important resources available throughout the Lubbock and West Texas area to ensure their student has a successful school year.
