Lubbock ISD Hosts Town Hall to Discuss Names of New Elementary Schools
Lubbock Independent School District (Lubbock ISD) is seeking community feedback on naming the district’s three new elementary schools being built as part of the 2025 bond. The district will host a town hall meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center (3201 Ave. Q).
Earlier this summer, we launched a Facility Naming Recommendation webpage explaining the naming process and providing a form where community members can submit their namesake recommendations. At the meeting, community members can learn more about the naming process and share their thoughts with the Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees and administration team. Spanish translation will be available along with Chromebooks for attendees to use to complete the form at the town hall.
Members from the Bean, McWhorter, Wolffarth, Stewart and Williams elementary school communities are highly encouraged to complete the naming application. Community involvement and transparency is a key goal for Lubbock ISD, and having these communities share their voices will help the Board of Trustees make an informed decision on the names that best fit these new facilities.
