LFR Places Brush 206 In Service
Lubbock Fire Rescue (LFR) is proud to announce the addition of Brush 206, the department’s newest wildland firefighting apparatus, now in service at Fire Station 20.
Brush 206 has been strategically assigned to Fire Station 20, home to Lubbock Fire Rescue’s Wildland Crew and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) team. The specialized apparatus strengthens the department’s ability to respond to wildland fires throughout the City of Lubbock while also increasing statewide emergency deployment capabilities through TIFMAS.
As wildfires continue to increase in frequency, intensity, and size across Texas and around the world, investing in specialized equipment remains a priority for Lubbock Fire Rescue. Brush 206 is specifically designed to operate in challenging off-road environments where traditional fire engines cannot safely access, allowing firefighters to attack fires in rugged terrain more effectively.
The apparatus is built on a 2025 Ford F-550 4×4 diesel chassis and is equipped with numerous features designed for wildland operations, including:

- 15,000-pound electric winch
- Hale HPX200-KBD24 pump
- 4-cycle Kubota D902-E4B-KEA-2 diesel engine
- Scotty Through-the-Pump foam system
- 450-gallon water tank
- 12-gallon foam tank

These capabilities allow firefighters to quickly access difficult terrain, improve suppression effectiveness with foam application, and provide continuous fire attack while navigating off-road conditions.
