City’s World Environmental Day Celebration
The City of Lubbock invites the community to join in a free, family-friendly World Environment Day Celebration on Wednesday, June 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hodges Community Center, located at 4011 University Ave., Lubbock, TX 79413.
This annual celebration highlights the importance of environmental stewardship and encourages residents to learn more about sustainability, conservation, and community engagement.
There will be:
• Food trucks
• Bounce houses for kids
• Booths featuring local organizations
• Games and interactive activities
• Prizes and giveaways
In addition, at 7:00 p.m., guests are invited to meet at the Demonstration Garden inside the Arboretum for a free Lubbock Master Gardener Session, where participants can learn practical gardening tips and sustainable landscaping practices.
This event is free and open to the public, offering fun and educational opportunities for all ages. Residents are encouraged to bring family, friends, and neighbors to celebrate together.
