In 2025, Covenant Health invested $87.1 million in community health programs and initiatives across West Texas and eastern New Mexico—advancing our mission to serve all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

This investment reflects our deep commitment to reducing health disparities and improving access to care through strategic outreach, partnerships, and services that meet the unique needs of our region’s most underserved populations.

The Annual Report to Our Communities allows us to share exactly how we financially support this mission throughout our communities:

We are honored to serve our communities and deeply grateful for the partnerships that help us expand access to life-changing, critical care. Tavia Hatfield, executive director of community health investment said, “This investment represents more than dollars. It represents lives impacted, barriers removed, and futures improved. Together with our community partners, we are driving real progress toward health equity across our region.”

Covenant Medical Center demonstrated its commitment to caring for vulnerable populations through its 12th Annual Free Colon Cancer Screening, expanding access to preventive care for underserved adults. The program removes financial and access barriers by offering free screenings to uninsured individuals age 45 and older. The initiative’s success highlights the importance of early intervention, even in cases where no cancer is found, by reducing future risk and improving patient outcomes. Made possible by dedicated caregivers, physician volunteers, and systemwide support, the program reflects Covenant Health’s mission to provide compassionate, equitable care to those who need it most.

Recognizing the growing challenge of access to essential medications, Covenant Health also strengthened its long-standing partnership with Catholic Charities of Lubbock through its Community Health & Wellness Grant Program. Together, they helped vulnerable individuals across West Texas and eastern New Mexico connect to life-saving prescriptions and supportive services. The program leveraged close collaboration with Covenant caregivers, social workers, and local pharmacies to identify patients in need, secure affordable medications, and connect them to long-term assistance programs.

As we look ahead, Covenant Health remains focused on creating lasting change and investing in programs that not only treat illness but also strengthen the well-being of every community we serve.
