Volleyball signs AVCA Beach Player of the Year Maggie Boyd


Texas Tech volleyball announced the signing of UCLA transfer Maggie Boyd to its roster on Friday. Boyd joins the Red Raiders after being a four-time AVCA Beach All-American, 2026 AVCA Beach Player of the Year and a 2026 National Champion.
Boyd finished her collegiate career at UCLA with over 125 wins and a list of awards a mile long including a three-time winner of AVCA Top Flight Award for Court one, NCAA All-Tournament Team, MPSF All-Tournament Team, MPSF Player of the Year, two-time All-Pac 12, CSC Academic All-America, Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, along with many more.
She is just the seventh player in NCAA history to earn four AVCA Beach All-America First Team honors and is fourth all-time at UCLA in career wins.
A Flower Mound, Texas native, Boyd spent four years at Marcus High School and was a four-year letterwinner for indoor. She earned All-American Region Team and First Team All-District honors while being named the District Hitter of the Year.
