Graham, Wiedemeyer selected to compete at 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup

Texas Tech’s Connor Graham and Tim Wiedemeyer have been selected to compete in the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup, set for July 3-5 at Tralee Golf Links in West Barrow, Ireland. The selections were announced live on Tuesday on the Golf Channel, with both representing the International Men’s Team.

Tuesday’s announcement marks Graham’s second career selection after competing in the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup, while Wiedemeyer earns his first. It is the first time since 2019 that two Red Raiders have been named to the same team, joining Ivan Ramirez and Sandy Scott, who both represented Team International.

The Arnold Palmer Cup, now in its 30th year, is a Ryder Cup-style competition featuring the top men’s and women’s collegiate golfers in the world, with the United States facing an International team annually. The event alternates between sites in the United States and internationally, primarily in Europe. It was last held at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, South Carolina, in 2025, while the International side previously hosted at Lahinch Golf Club in Ireland in 2024.

Each team features 24 golfers — 12 men and 12 women — including one coach’s pick per gender. Graham made his first appearance in 2025 as a coach’s selection for Team International.

Texas Tech continues its strong history in the event, as Graham and Wiedemeyer become the 14th and 15th all-time selections to compete in an Arnold Palmer Cup.

Past participants include Nils Floren (2011), Clément Sordet (2015), Hannes Rönneblad (2017), Fredrik Nilehn (2017, 2018), Hurly Long (2018), Ivan Ramirez (2019), Sandy Scott (2019), Ludvig Åberg (2020, 2022), Tyran Snyders (2023), Calum Scott (2024), and Graham (2025). Head coach Greg Sands also served as Team USA’s head coach in 2021.

Among the 32 universities represented this year, Florida leads with five selections. Southern California follows with four, while Auburn, Texas, and Texas A&M each have three. Arizona State, Texas Tech, and Wake Forest each have two selections.

Arizona State has had at least one male golfer selected every year since 2019, while the Texas Tech men have had a representative in nine of the past 10 Arnold Palmer Cups.

Team International claimed the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup with a 35-25 victory over Team USA, marking its first win since 2022 and first on U.S. soil since 2020. When last contested in Europe, Team USA won the 2024 edition, 32.5-27.5, to retain the Cup.

The competition features three days of match play, including Four-Ball, Foursomes, and Singles.

Since its inception, more than 250 Arnold Palmer Cup alumni have gone on to earn playing status on the PGA, DP World, or LPGA Tours. A total of 46 have competed in the Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup, or Solheim Cup, while more than 100 have combined for over 450 professional victories. The United States leads the all-time series, 15-13-1.

Selection Process: The team shall consist of 12 men’s and 12 women’s golfers. For 2026, 11 of the 12 golfers will be committee selections. One of the committee selections must be a representative from the R&A Student Tour Series. Coaches’ picks were the final selections on the team and were designated as such when announced.

2026 ARNOLD PALMER CUP UNITED STATES TEAM:
Selection Process: The team shall consist of 12 men’s and 12 women’s golfers. For 2026, 11 of the 12 golfers will be committee selections. One of the committee selections must be a non-Division I golfer. Coaches’ picks were the final selections on the team and were designated as such when announced.
