City Announces ‘Keep Lubbock Beautiful’ 2026 Annual Art Contest Winners
The City of Lubbock Solid Waste Department’s Keep Lubbock Beautiful (KLB) Program is proud to announce the winners and honorary mentions of its annual art contest. The contest encompasses youth from kindergarten through 12th grade, in elementary, middle, and high school categories.
Raylee Guerra, Preslea Ellis, and Gauranga Betha took the top three prizes with Brigit Anderson, Devin Flores, and Mason Sharp achieving honorary mentions. The KLB Board reviewed eighty pieces of artwork representing the selected theme of ‘Creators and Pollinators’.
Winners will each receive a $100 prize while honorary mentions will each receive $75. Additionally, one of the top three pieces will be selected and featured on the side of a City of Lubbock Solid Waste Department waste collection vehicle. The annual art contest is held to promote different aspects of beautification and waste reduction, utilizing unique themes for each competition.
These six participants will be recognized at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the East Lubbock Art House located on 405 M.L.K. Jr. Blvd, Suite B. The public is invited to help celebrate these young artists at this event.
