Mayor Mark W. McBrayer and Lubbock Apartment Association to Present Check to Lubbock Impact

Mayor Mark W. McBrayer and the Lubbock Apartment Association will present a check of the funds raised at the 44th Annual State of the City event to Lubbock Impact at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Every year a portion of the proceeds from the State of the City address go to a charity chosen by the Lubbock Mayor. Over the past 40 years, the Lubbock Apartment Association has donated more than $500,000 from the State of the City event to local charities.

Lubbock Impact empowers the working poor by providing enrichment programs and resources to meet physical, spiritual and emotional needs. Lubbock Impact seeks to break the cycle of generational poverty and build stronger futures. Their services include community meals, access to hygiene pantries and clothing closets, no-cost medical, dental and eye clinics, and more.

The check presentation will take place at Lubbock Impact, which is located at 2707 34th Street.
