Lubbock ISD to Hold Town Halls for District Optimization Updates
Lubbock Independent School District (Lubbock ISD) will hold a series of spring town hall meetings designed to provide updates to community members, families, staff and stakeholders related to district optimization. Over the next several weeks, town halls will be hosted in each of the voting districts served by the Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees, beginning with District 1 this Wednesday (April 1). A virtual town hall will conclude the series on May 5.
The meetings are free and open to the public and will be translated in Spanish. Parents and guardians can attend any meeting – not just the one that corresponds to the voting district in which they live or their child attends school. Each session will feature updates from district leadership and opportunities for questions.
Town Hall Schedule: All town hall meetings will be held from 5:30- 7 p.m.

The town halls represent Lubbock ISD’s commitment to transparency and collaborative discussions as the school district continuously works to improve effectiveness and efficiency, provide innovative educational and development opportunities and ensure teachers and staff have the tools and resources they need to nurture, develop and inspire every child, every day.
“These meetings give the district a chance to keep our community, district and families informed on the progress and future of our district,” said Ken Casarez, Lubbock ISD Chief Innovation Officer. “They are one of the easiest ways to connect with district and board leaders, and we encourage anyone who is interested in learning more to take advantage of these opportunities and attend a town hall.”
