Information Regarding Incident Near McCool Academy This Morning
At about 8 a.m. today (March 25), one of our students was struck by a vehicle while using the crosswalk to walk across Quaker Avenue at the 31st Street intersection. The student was able to stand and walk to the sidewalk where they were quickly assisted by parents, students and staff who witnessed the accident.
Lubbock ISD Police, EMS, Lubbock Fire Rescue and the Lubbock Police Department were immediately notified and responded to the scene. The student was transported via ambulance to a local hospital to receive appropriate medical care. Lubbock ISD Police are leading the investigation into the incident and will be assisted by the Lubbock Police Department.
