Maupin named finalist for WBCA All-America team

Senior Bailey Maupin was named as one of the 48 finalists for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division I Coaches’ All-America team as announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon.

NCAA Division I head coaches who are WBCA members may nominate players from their own teams for Coaches’ All-America. They then vote for the top players in their respective regions from among those players who are nominated. The WBCA NCAA Division I Awards Committee, which is composed of head coaches from each region who are elected by their peers, may select up to 12 additional at-large finalists from the remaining pool of nominees. The committee will meet in Phoenix, in conjunction with the annual WBCA Convention to select the 2026 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches’ All-America team. Both will be announced on April 2.

Maupin is having the best season of her career, leading the Lady Raiders in points per game (15.1), free throws (116), threes (64), double-figure scoring games (27) and 20-plus point games (6). Second on the team in assists (84) and third in steals (51), Maupin earned her fourth All-Big 12 honor after being named to the All-Big 12 First Team. Named to the All-Freshman Team in 2023 and receiving All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2024 and 2025, Maupin was one of just 10 unanimous honorees on the First Team.

The Gruver, Texas native ranks top-100 nationally in free throws and in free throw percentage (.835). Maupin is approaching her second-straight 500-point season with 482 points so far. Maupin tallies six games with 3-plus steals and five games with 5-plus assists, while also leading the team in points 13 times this season. Maupin posted a season-high of 27 points, just one point away from her career-high, with four 3-pointers and 53.3 percent shooting from the field (8-for-15) to help the Lady Raiders defeat second-place West Virginia in Morgantown on Jan. 7. In doing so, she was named the Big 12 Player of the Week and one of the USBWA National Players of the Week for the first time in her career.

A four-year Lady Raider, Maupin will go down as one of the all-time greats in program history, ranking in the top-10 of the record book in the following categories: third in free throws made (473), third in 3-pointer attempts (599), fourth in career scoring (1,789 points), fourth in 3-pointers made (194), fifth in free throw percentage (.833), fifth in free throw attempts (568) and seventh in field goal attempts (1,389).

The No. 7 Lady Raiders are set to play in their first NCAA Tournament since 2013 against No. 10 Villanova in the first round on Friday at 7:30 p.m. CT in Baton Rouge, La.
